Green Planet Plastics, Inc.
Helping Agriculture Grow Green
Empty Crop Protection Containers.
Part of any success story must begin by giving recognition to those that provided help in the beginning. Without the help, support, and on going effort of Interstate Ag Plastics and the Ag Container Recycling Council, (ACRC) this project would not be a reality. Pictured above is Interstate Ag Plastics at a waste and recycling facility program. Growers at this location were in search of a recycling venue and through collaboration between Interstate Ag Plastics, Sutter County Ag, and the ACRC, Green Planet Plastics was able to initiate the program. This is a great joint effort that results in thousands of pounds of empty containers that will be properly recycled per standards set forth by the ACRC. Interstate Ag Plastics is one of several approved contractors of the ACRC.
The ACRC contractors help remove spent pesticide containers from drop sites throughout the country.
We thank the ACRC and their members for their support of our programs.
Without this support, correct retrieval of empty crop protection containers would be impossible.
Please note that in photos throughout our site, that the grinding process is nearly dust proof and very safe because of the triple rinsing process. Each bag on the back of the recycling truck will contain nearly 2000 pounds of plastics that would otherwise be destined for a land fill.
A typical day of recycling ag plastics will yield between 8,000 and 15,000 pounds of shredded or baled material. On ocassion we will recieve double that amount.
That is success..... with high dividends! We appreciate your support in this effort!
Beyond containers, Other types of plastics
Other types of plastics being recycled include; plastic nursery trays, poly pipe and many types of irrigation systems. Since the ACRC specializes in ag containers, we are constantly on the lookout for additional consumers, haulers and buyers of non-container ag plastics. These types of materials may be shipped loose or baled and banded into plastic blocks for transport on flat bed trucks. Many plastics are also chipped in a manner similar to the crop protection containers. Growers in the Northern Sacramento Valley can contact us about retrieval of Polypipe and other plastics. 530-228-3337 or contact the Work Training Center in Chico
